If you only watch Fox News, you simply are not an informed citizen.

For many years, I have stated that Fox News frequently distorts information in ways that leave conservative viewers with an incomplete and highly misleading understanding of current events. Over time, I have commented on the patterns in which their commentary is presented with the tone and authority of factual reporting, even though they severely blur the line between news and opinion. This creative and purposeful blending can create an environment where emotionally charged narratives far overshadow verifiable details, making it harder for audiences to distinguish evidence‑based reporting from ideological framing. Granted, when it comes to the FOX News audience, it does not take much effort.
Which leads me to this past weekend, when it was announced that former FBI Director Robert Mueller had died. That was followed soon after by Donald Trump writing on social media, “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”
You did not hear that vile white-trash comment on Fox News. The network mentioned Mueller at least six times on air Saturday and Sunday without ever quoting Trump’s comment. Just another typical example of how the network is not a source for journalism or reporting. And another example as to why the average Trump supporter’s intelligence is akin to a mushroom.
Those who watch Fox News to monitor its broadcasts noticed how brief the coverage of Mueller’s death was over the weekend. That ran counter to the hours and hours and hours of airtime spent villainizing him during Trump’s first term in the Oval Office. NOT ONCE did the network report this weekend the putrid words from Dear Leader about the pleasure he found in the death of a veteran who received the Purple Heart.
This is the second recent example of a seriously flawed and purely partisan hand job from the network to Trump. Just earlier in the month, March 7, during what was to have been a dignified transfer ceremony for six U.S. service members killed in Kuwait as a result of Trump’s war in Iran, Fox failed to show Trump wearing a white “USA” baseball cap with “45-47” on the side. Trump was simply demonstrating, through that behavior, what he had said in words during his first term about U.S. military troops.
Former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly confirmed that in November 2018, during a trip to France to commemorate the 100th anniversary of World War I, Trump declined to visit the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, calling it “filled with losers”. In that same trip, Trump referred to the 1,800 Marines who died at Belleau Wood as “suckers”.
Fox News did not show the offensive baseball hat, but instead showed segments of a previous December 2025 ceremony where Trump was not wearing a partisan baseball cap. After their butt was fried in the news and commented on via social media, the network finally admitted what they had done and was forced to apologize for airing incorrect archival footage.
The bottom line was not missed by the majority of reasoned people in the nation. Once again, we see the consequences of the unwashed angry white men who trashed the nation on Election Day 2024. This time, the result was Trump demeaning the office during a solemn military ritual. He chose to wear tawdry campaign merchandise. Flinging about a G-string from the latest hooker he paid for could not have been worse.
The tightly curated informationless ecosystem of FOX News leaves its audience operating with a distorted and often incomplete understanding of current events. When a network filters out nuance, sidelines fact‑based reporting, or prioritizes outrage over clarity, it inevitably shapes how poorly their viewers can engage with complex issues. Right-wingers are routinely deprived of the breadth and depth of information needed to form well‑grounded conclusions. In that sense, the network’s editorial choices don’t just inform its viewers; they severely limit them.
