Hello! I am a book author (Walking Up The Ramp), podcaster (“Doty Land”), political blogger (“Caffeinated Politics”), amateur historian, former radio broadcaster, and former Admin. Asst. WI State Assembly, Gay American. I was raised on County Trunk KK in Hancock, Wisconsin, by Royce and Geneva Humphrey, in a nicely painted and well-maintained home with summer blooms and mounded drifts of snow in winter. A place where watching the bean pickers pass along on the country road was considered the highlight of a summer afternoon. While my siblings decided to live within miles of the family homestead, I wanted and needed a larger canvas of life to explore and experience. The radio studio at the corner of 15th and Utah in Sturgeon Bay, a decade in politics at the Wisconsin State Assembly, and work with non-profits helped shape my diverse perspectives, which now show up as opinions and musings on this blog. Welcome to my little place on the internet highway. Pour a cup of coffee and stay a while. You know I would serve a slice of pie if I could. Just like we did back home.
