Trump Needs A New Title: King Of Blarney And Bull

Trump made a most dreadful series of comments in the past few days regarding Pope Leo.  It has been most embarrassing for our country.  Clearly, Trump believes he is even ‘above the Pope’ when it comes to theological reasoning. As such, we need to ask if he feels hemmed in by the mere title of his constitutional office.

While thinking about this matter, I recall Britain being pressured by an ever-more confident Russia in the 1870s during the reign of Queen Victoria. For all their international efforts, the Brits had not always been able to match their diplomatic and political moves with their economic power.  How, then, might Britain show they were more than a mere country among fellow countries?

The idea emerged of changing the monarch’s title from a royal one to an imperial title.  At the time, the Russian Czar had a formal title and, at times, used his name in reference to an elaborate and lengthy list of territories he lorded over.  In time, Victoria will be known as both Queen and Empress.

Queen Victoria was officially proclaimed Empress of India on May 1, 1876, through the Royal Titles Act. Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli spearheaded this addition to her titles to strengthen the link between the monarchy and the expanding British Empire, with the title being formally celebrated on January 1, 1877.

This week, we have seen again that Trump believes he has been selected by God, and would have us think his words are more aligned with God than the words of a pope.  We recall in 2019 when Trump stood in front of the White House press corps, holding his hands in supplication, or as he might when fondling a large-breasted porn star, while glancing to heaven, proclaiming, “I am the chosen one.”

Clearly, Trump must feel shackled by the mere title of his elected office, given his selection by God to lead the world and browbeat a pope.  While Queen Victoria added a title to check geopolitical spheres of influence, Trump surely feels a need for an additional title to more resemble the Sun King, Louis XIV.  The fact that Louis was actually very religious and offered daily devotions all his life will not bother Trump. Nothing serves as a deterrent to his obviously manifesting psychological disorder.

Trump clearly has a desire to be more than a mere mortal elected by humans to serve in government.  He fancies himself to reside in an elevated position of power and respect that communes with God and then speaks to the people.  People like Trump were once thought to be delusional.  Now, a sizable segment of the nation figuratively bows to him; many are embarrassing sycophants, and they are still so juiced on the Kool-Aid that they are still proud to have voted for him. Because of them and what the book of Revelation tells us, I suspect the term “antichrist” is trending on Google.

I think Trump should be labeled as nothing more than a fraud and purveyor of blarney and bull. That undereducated people fall for his lines is as much a sign that something is wrong with our society as it is that Trump is mentally unstable and in need of institutional care.

Finally, I wish to ask forgiveness from lovers of history for linking Queen Victoria with someone she would have found so totally loathsome.
